Hi, this is Karen's Food Blog !

I will be posting food related blogs, that are mainly assigned in my class in this blog.

When I first registered for this class, I didn't imagine there as so much can do and learn about food for one semester. But we've been learning about people's way of eating, like vegan, and also phrases in English that are related to food, such as something was an "icing on the cake", for example.

What was especially memorable for me in what we learned in class was the choices that the death row inmate made for his or her last meal. I wouldn't have even known for my whole life what people choose for their last meal if I hadn't taken this class. It was kind of surprising that steak was a popular menu, I thought they would choose something lighter. The man who made the last meals for the people put so much effort in it, even though some couldn't finish the dish due to mental issues and that was also impressive too.

What we also learned was the history of how people developed their meal from they were hunting mammoths. There were shepherds from so long ago, and that means that people were drinking milk and eating cheese from then, I was amazed of how intellegent they were, to produce such kinds of food before they even cultivated rice.

I've only been half through this class, but I'm sure I got further interest and knowledge in food. I would be happy to share my thoughts throughout this blog.

  1. This is such a good summary of what we covered in the class up to the point of the blog entry. It's gratifying to me that you found out things you thought were eye-opening and worth knowing about. It shows that you've been attentive and engaged in what we've been doing in the class. Keep up the good work!
